WORN Workshop

Colour, Materiality, Individuality, and Memory

The WORN workshop offers an exciting opportunity to engage with the creative and cultural legacy of Bernat Klein.

In 2020 the Bernat Klein Foundation commissioned Abigail Jubb and Morag Seaton of WORN, to create an online workshop.

In response to the brief, WORN developed an informative and highly visual resource pack. This was supported by feedback and contributions from a small group of student volunteers studying at the School of Textiles and Design at Heriot-Watt University (Borders Campus).

In the development of the workshop and the resource pack themes - Colour, Materiality, Individuality and Memory - the National Museum of Scotland generously contributed images and research material.

The Workshop

The workshop offers an introduction to Bernat Klein through interactive experiences and open discussion.

Also included are a series of short practical exercises, such as drawing and photography, which are used to capture responses and personal stories about garments and clothes, selected by the workshop participants.

Examples by the student volunteers can be viewed at the end of the resource pack.

If you would like more information on the WORN Workshop as a one-day online experience for individuals and small-groups, we would be delighted to hear from you.
